What does a11y mean?
a11y is short for “accessibility” and is a numeronym (Wikipedia) that replaces the 11 letters between “A” and “Y” in the word “accessibility.” Digital accessibility ensures that websites, documents, and digital interfaces can be accessed, understood, and interacted with by all users, whether they use a mouse, a screen reader, voice commands, or other assistive technology. a11y is sometimes pronouced ALLY.
Are short URLs case-sensitive?
Yes. Short codes are case-sensitive. For example, abc123 and ABC123 are different URLs.
How long do short URLs last?
Once confirmed, short URLs never expire. They remain active until you delete them from your dashboard.
Why do I need to confirm my email?
Email confirmation prevents abuse and spam. Your email is not stored by us. have 5 minutes to confirm after creating a short URL. If not confirmed, the URL is automatically deleted.
Can I create custom short codes?
Currently, only randomly generated codes are supported. All codes are 6 characters long using letters (a-z, A-Z) and numbers (0-9).
How often can I create short URLs?
Rate limiting allows 1 short URL per minute per email address and IP address. Wait 60 seconds between creations.
What happens when someone clicks my short URL?
Visitors see a redirection page for 5 seconds with a countdown, then are automatically redirected. They can skip the countdown by clicking the button.
How do I access my dashboard?
Click "Access your dashboard" from the main page and enter your email. You'll receive a magic link valid for 15 minutes. No password needed.
Can I see how many people clicked my links?
Yes. Your dashboard shows total clicks and the timestamp of the last click for each URL.
Can I delete my short URLs?
Yes. Log in to your dashboard and click "Delete" next to any URL. This permanently removes the short URL.
What types of URLs can I shorten?
Only HTTP and HTTPS URLs are allowed. URLs must be publicly accessible (no localhost or private IP addresses).
Is my data secure?
Yes. The service uses modern security practices including SQL injection prevention, XSS protection, CSRF tokens, and secure sessions. All emails are validated and rate-limited.
Can I use the same email for multiple URLs?
Yes. One email address can create unlimited short URLs (subject to rate limiting). All URLs appear in your dashboard when logged in.
What if I don't receive the confirmation email?
Check your spam folder. The email expires after 5 minutes. If it doesn't arrive, try creating the short URL again.
Can I change the destination URL after creation?
No. Once confirmed, the destination URL cannot be changed. You'll need to create a new one.
Does the service track visitors?
Only basic click counts are tracked. No personal information about visitors is stored.
How can I delete my personal information from your service?
We do not store any personal information. You can delete your links through your dashboard. Please refer to the legal notice for further information.
